An inspiring, challenging and supportive space to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of team coaching.
Team Coaching Retreat, July 3, 2023
VIEW ALL UPCOMING EVENTSCoaching can be a lonely pursuit. You often feel like the lone ranger, particularly within this relatively new discipline called Team Coaching. We felt the same, and so the Retreat was born.
Maybe you’ve only just discovered this thing called Team Coaching? Or you’re curious to expand your knowledge. Perhaps you’ve been doing this for as long as Hawkins has been book-signing.
Wherever you’re at in your Team Coaching journey, the Retreat is an inspiring, challenging and supportive space for us all to come together.
“I witnessed and experienced a new level of depth to which we can go as a group together. We shared, we held, we laughed, we danced, we challenged and we reflected. Amazing.” – Carol F
The Retreat is perfect for you if you’re an independent or in-house coach, or HR and L&D professional and….
- Immersing yourself in all things Team Coaching within a small, welcoming group is your idea of 5 days well-spent
- You’re ready to feel part of a tribe and meet other Team Coaches, as together we help shape the future of our industry
- You don’t just want to read the books, you want to do the stuff by honing your skills and building your confidence
Who is Team Coaching Studio?
Team Coaching Studio offers internationally recognised ICF-accredited programmes for independent and in-house coaches.
Georgina Woudstra and Allard De Jong are the dynamic duo behind Team Coaching Studio and they will be your Retreat hosts. The have been pivotal in the team coaching movement from its inception, to getting the discipline accredited.
Georgina has been coaching since the ‘80’s and is the author of the industry-acclaimed book, Mastering the Art of Team Coaching. Georgina passionately believes that teams need to work together brilliantly for organisations to thrive, today and in the future.
Allard has been coaching internationally since 2001, believing that we are slowly forgetting how to be together, think together and work together. And surely collaboration holds the promise of unprecedented human progress, real progress. Allard’s mission is to help people think and work together better. One team at a time.
“A great opportunity to meet with fellow team coaches for 5 days in the beautiful city that is Winchester, UK. TCS creates an environment to connect, learn, reflect, pause, try new things, and be inspired. Georgina and Allard are warm, generous, and enthusiastic hosts.”
What are your perceptions around ‘Power’ in Team Coaching?
This year’s Retreat theme is ‘Power’, together we’ll explore:
- The power relationship between coach and client
- The power dynamics between team members
- Power hierarchies within organisations
- Power balances between paired team coaches
- Holding onto your credibility without overpowering a team
- Your own relationship with power and its connotations for you
- How to balance your power as a team coach, to avoid becoming the meaning-maker
Introducing two world-renowned speakers to discuss our theme of ‘Power’
Dr Emma Donaldson-Feilder
Your Relationship with Power with Dr Emma Donaldson-Feilder
Author and media commentator, Emma Donaldson-Feilder is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Relational Mindfulness Teacher, Coach Supervisor and Coaching Psychologist.
This session will be an opportunity to explore your felt sense of power and to look at your habits and patterns around power.
It will draw on relational mindfulness, which takes your present-moment, non-judgemental awareness into speaking, listening and otherwise interacting with others.
You will be invited into mindful dialogue to support awareness, relational presence, and insight as you engage with the topic of power as an embodied experience.
Diana Musho Hamilton
An Exploration of Power with Diana Musho Hamilton
Award-winning author Diane Musho Hamilton combines decades of work in conflict resolution with a depth of experience in sitting meditation. With extraordinary warmth, depth and insight, she encourages us to work with our differences, while discovering our fundamental unity.
Diana’s powerful virtualession is themed around the impulse to flatten hierarchies, in the positive examination of power dynamics and challenges to power abuse.
But the One Up/One Down power structure is so deep in our evolutionary biology, that our best option is to become more conscious of how we use and distribute power. Because even when we succeed in flattening hierarchies, the One Up / One Down dynamics still play out.
So it is imperative to learn how to work with power in our relationships – in our teams, relationships, and lives.
Through Diana’s virtual session, we’ll better understand:
- The fluidity of power in relationships
- The positive and negative of the One Up/One Down positions
- Key dynamics and questions we can engage to explore power dynamics to support group goals.
“A very rich and powerful week, with a great breadth of experiential exercisesand some fascinating fellow practitioners and speakers to furtherexpand the wonderful world of team coaching!” – Duncan Lewin

How are your improvisation skills?
As team coaches, we often find ourselves in emerging situations where we need to think on our feet. Improv is a great tool to help us build that ability.
As part of the Retreat, you’ll get a morning of Power-themed improv organised by The Maydays, an award-winning improvised comedy and theatre company.
As one of the UK’s top schools for improv, they offer critically acclaimed live shows, workshops, corporate training and more.
We can’t wait for this one!
“An amazing retreat, beautifully organised. There were stimulating sessions and conversations; time for enquiry and reflection; as well as lots of connecting with fellow team coaches. Questions you might be thinking…
How many spaces are available for the retreat
We purposely only allow space for 25 people so we can feel connected as a smaller group. Some past attendees have already booked, so some spots are filled, if you are interested we suggest booking soon!
What’s the cancellation policy?
We get that life happens, so you may cancel for a full refund up to 60 days before the Retreat start date (3 July 2023). You may also transfer your space to a colleague or peer, for a small admin fee. For full cancellation details head here.
What’s included in the price?
All sessions, as well as mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshments, are included in the price of the Retreat. The price does not include main meals or accommodation.
Where should I stay?
We find that delegates have varying accommodation and dietary requirements: some like a hotel, some prefer a B&B, and others like to book an Airbnb with other delegates.
For this reason, accommodation, travel to the venue and main meals are not included in the price.
Winchester has a wealth of accommodation and lunchtime & evening venue options and we will be happy to help point you in the right direction.
Once you have booked your ticket, you will be directed to an online space just for fellow retreat attendees – we will share ideas of where to stay and what to do there.
Still got a question? Email us at admin@teamcoachingstudio.com and we’re happy to help.
